So the other day at camden market, I found this really cute heart shaped sling pouch kinda thing.
ITS SO CUTE /PRETTY I SWEAR. Just had to buy a couple of it.
Its like..hmm. 12 pounds? Which is about 24 dollars SGD moolah.
and I'm going to give one away to a kind soul or reader of mine who can help me out by dropping a comment to tell me whats the quickest way to get rid of homesickness.
Most of my friends tell me to eat asian food here. But asian food here sucks.

Actually I think there is no way to get rid of homesickness. As time passed, the homesickness will be away. (: Just stop thinking about your family, your home and concentrate on work, it may work? What I meant of stop thinking is stop saying and stop thinking you wanna go home, you hate being at London. (: Try thinking some things that are good about London. (: I thought you are really excited to go London before being there? Try to think about those times how you are excited to go London, maybe it helps.(: 加油!!! \(^-^)/
ReplyDeletenow sure if this will help but maybe you can try crying for a few days or if not keep on going out with her friends or do something to distract her
ReplyDeletekeep doing stuffs??like keep youself occupy most of the time...express your feelings and not keep them to yourself...look on the bright side and dont let negativity eat u up=) hang on u can do it=))
ReplyDeleteOne of the few ways to cure homesick would be to stay close in touch w your family & friends. That way you'll feel that they're always thr!

you can always get your family & friends to mail you things. Th feeling of receiving sth from home always feels good :)
orrrrrrr
you can make friends here to keep yourself occupy & make london your 2nd home too! Hehehehehehe
Cheer up! I hope you're having fun thr!! hehehehehe
Keep yourself busy by finding things to do and GO OUT OFTEN!!! With your new friends:) Another way is just to keep in touch with the people at home, print their pictures, write letters (SNAIL MAIL FTW), call them.
ReplyDeleteI guess just give yourself time, you'll feel like that initially but as time goes by, you'll appreciate the freedom and YOUR INCREDIBLE LUCK OF GETTING TO STAY IN SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY ASLIDHAOISBAO
Honestly, homesickness won't leave you so soon. It's natural to feel really homesick initially, I think. The trick is to schedule a weekly skype call so you have something to look forward at the end of every week. Also, dress WARM (that is, always make sure your neck/feet/head is warm- it helps a lot! And wear tights under your jeans or woollen tights for your boots- get boots!) Making friends and hanging out with them often/talking to them in London + arranging post-work things will save you :) You'll realise what amazing people/company you can meet now you're not in Singapore- it'd widen your perspective a lot, as well. Aren't you there to do that, anyhow? So make use of it to find out how the company you're doing your internship in works, get to know your employers/intern mates better, and lastly EXPLORE. London's wonderful, it'd be ridiculous if you don't take the chance to catch live music as often as possible, watch a play (it's super cheap there!), etc etc. :3
ReplyDelete=) Cheer up! -Cherri from Singapore
