Portraits after dark

HOLA aimogos. 

So last friday I went for the Portraits after dark event by OIC at the red dot museum with Sanekata, Vincent and Caleb. Its basically like a live drawing kinda session whereby people signed up to be posers or sitters, and then all the illustrators or artists will draw them in 20mins. Its really fast, and the next group of sitters will come, and the next drawing will be done and so on and so forth.

After 20mins is up, everyone hangs their drawing infront as shown above, and the person who was drawn would choose the ones that he/she likes and buy it. SO the artist gets $10 per drawing sold. WHOOHOO. good money. 

fun way to earn money too.

There are SO MANY awesome illustrators out there. It was really great looking at their works and the different styles that everyone has. Super inspiring. Good way to meet people who have the same interests as well. ^^

Here are the 6 drawings that I did that night. 

I sold 2 surprisingly, because usually the sitter would just buy 1 out of all the 30 drawings,

and it was my first time there, so I wasnt expecting to sell any drawings.

PLUS EVERYONE IS SO FREAKING AWESOME.

Theres this guy who's like a human photocopy machine, he draws like...a machine.

and it looks like the carbon copy of the real life person.

but anyway, here are mine...un carbon copy... sadz.

Registered artists get a cupcake and a beer. yay

and there was a live band playing as well. I'm sorry but I cannot remember the name of the band, but I know its the cashew something. They're Caleb's friends, so got to talk to some of them at the end of the event, but some were pretty much too drunk by then. Nevertheless, super awesome music, srsly. I felt like standing just dancing while drawing. HAHAHAHHA.

so anyway, alongside the live drawing event, whereby lots of people would crowd around to look at us draw, which gives me lots of pressure....there were other senior artists drawing on huge cardboard pieces like these. 

This one is my favourite. ITS SO HARDCORE MAN. Like the composition, the theme, the subject. everything man. FIERCE.

and I really like Ken's supra shoes.

Iphone actually takes nice photos, but its really small, like when I try to make it slightly bigger, it gets pixilated. 

and I cant wait for my holidays. :( 

I wanna chill at home, go out and chill at cafes while drawing people, or just doing my own things yknow. I dont even wanna do crazy things, I just wanna draw...paint...write poetry...sit under a tree and contemplate about life and how we are actually born to die...yknow that kinda thing.

Take up some craft projects, make some crazy things, go wild drawing on my wall
